Dagobaire is a winner of Refashion's Industrial Challenge

Dagobaire is a producer of recycled textile fibers. These textiles come from post-consumer clothing (TLC), professional workwear, or industrial production scraps.

The fibers produced by Dagobaire are sold to spinners and manufacturers of non-woven materials. Dagobaire has developed the product Dagovrac®, a blow-in insulation material for the construction industry.

A word from the CEO

« Our ambition is to recover more textiles that are currently not being reused and to incorporate them into new products to be brought to market.»

Romain Mayaud, CEO of Dagobaire

DAGOFELT PROJECT's OBJECTIVES

The project involves producing non-woven materials made from recycled textile materials. It includes both the production of Recycled Raw Material (RRM) and its integration into non-wovens. This complete production line will enable the manufacturing of non-woven materials that are:

  • Rigid and thin

  • Flexible and thin

  • Flexible and thick

Primarily for thermal and acoustic insulation applications.

Project summary

TYPE OF CHF COVERED: Clothing textiles and household linen

STAGE IN THE RECOVERY CHAIN: Mechanical recycling (shredding)

OUTLETS (MARKETS): Insulation and other non-woven materials

FINAL PRODUCT: Thermal and acoustic insulation in panels and loose-fill form

The process in 4 stages

1) Prepare the textiles before shredding: sort and remove foreign elements (undesired colors, labels, buttons, zippers, etc.).Objective: to obtain homogeneous batches of textile material.

2) Shred to produce the Recycled Raw Material (RRM).Objective: to achieve the desired fiber qualities for the intended applications (blends, purity, fiber length, defined technical characteristics, etc.).

3) Incorporate the RRM into non-woven materials (mainly for insulation purposes) and cut them to size.

4) Palletize the non-woven materials.
