Eco-fees: the cornerstone of our strategy in the textiles and footwear industry

As a producer, brand or retailer selling clothing, household linen or footwear (CHF), you might have questions about your legal obligations

As a producer, brand or retailer selling clothing, household linen or footwear (CHF), you might have questions about your legal obligations.

The eco-fee is far more than just a formality. It plays an essential role in financing the prevention and management for end-of-life textiles and footwear products. It is also a way to support the transition to a circular economy.Find out everything you need to know about declaring and paying your eco-fee here!

The principle in short

Every year, you pay eco-fee to Refashion. This contribution finances the prevention and management actions associated with your products that have become waste (ecodesign, repairing, collecting, sorting, recycling, reusing, etc.). As a result, we are able to meet regulatory targets and support the textiles and footwear industry in its transition towards a circular economy.

In other words: your contribution drives our combined efforts to move the industry forward.

How is eco-fee calculated?

Assessment of Needs

Each year, Refashion assesses the funding required to carry out its missions and achieve its objectives. Based on this evaluation, an amount is determined with our board of directors and then submitted to the stakeholders’ committee and the public authorities. This process constitutes the eco-fee funding call.

Calculating eco-contributions

The call for funds is calculated as follows:

Estimation of  volumes placed on the market x Current eco-fee scale

+ Administrative costs

+ ADEME fees (based on decree)

Must-have

When making your declaration, always check the eco-fee scale for the year in question.
