What you need to know before drafting your PEDP

The Waste prevention and Ecodesign Plan (PEDP) is a simple and powerful way to set out your ambitions in terms of ecodesign.

As this plan is compulsory, it is essential to consider all the aspects involved. It will help you to set out your goals, action, indicators, etc., it will provide guidance and allow you to structure your approach.

What is the Waste prevention and Ecodesign Plan (PEDP)?

The Waste prevention and Eco-design Plan is a legal requirement set out in Article 72 of France’s AGEC anti-waste act. It concerns all producers, brands and retailers in the Clothing, Household linen and Footwear sector, and must be revised at least every five years.

For which purpose?

The Waste prevention and Ecodesign Plan formally sets out your goals and practical initiatives in the area of ecodesign for the next five years. Its purpose is to reduce the use of non-renewable resources, increase the use of raw recycled materials and improve the recyclability of your products in France.

In short: it's your roadmap for steering your ecodesign strategy and for reducing your environmental footprint. While also optimising your choice of materials for easier recycling.
