As this plan is compulsory, it is essential to consider all the aspects involved. It will help you to set out your goals, action, indicators, etc., it will provide guidance and allow you to structure your approach.

The Waste prevention and Eco-design Plan is a legal requirement set out in Article 72 of France’s AGEC anti-waste act. It concerns all producers, brands and retailers in the Clothing, Household linen and Footwear sector, and must be revised at least every five years.
For which purpose?
The Waste prevention and Ecodesign Plan formally sets out your goals and practical initiatives in the area of ecodesign for the next five years. Its purpose is to reduce the use of non-renewable resources, increase the use of raw recycled materials and improve the recyclability of your products in France.
In short: it's your roadmap for steering your ecodesign strategy and for reducing your environmental footprint. While also optimising your choice of materials for easier recycling.
The participation level was high for the first Waste prevention and Ecodesign Plan campaign. A total of 6,516 plans were received by 30 November 2023, representing 72% of eco-organization’s members, covering 84% of products placed on the market in 2022.

Some questions are mandatory. They relate to the three mandatory areas required by Article 72 of the AGEC law: Reducing the use of non-renewable resources, Increasing the use of recycled materials, and Increasing the recyclability of products.
The non-mandatory questions are provided to help you complete your analysis by taking into account other topics that are essential to eco-design and the circular economy.
Once you have completed the form, all you have to do is validate your answers. An automatic email will be sent to you with a document containing all your answers and a certificate confirming that your plan has been successfully submitted.
