Recycled nylon collective launched for outdoor brands - Ecotextile News

Recycler Samsara Eco and trade body European Outdoor Group collaborate in a bid to make recycled nylon available to smaller companies.

SYDNEY / ZUG – Australian biotech Samsara Eco has partnered with the European Outdoor Group (EOG) to launch a new collaboration designed to make high‑performance recycled nylon accessible to a wider range of outdoor brands.

The Nylon Materials Collective aims to tackle common barriers to scaling recycled nylon – from high costs and minimum order quantities (MOQs) to supply chain complexity – by aggregating demand and standardising material specifications across participating companies.

Central to the project is a ‘demand pooling’ system that brings together a collective of brands so they can meet MOQs and secure more competitive pricing on recycled nylon, an issue that has historically locked out many small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs).

By aligning on shared suppliers and common technical yarn specifications, the partners expect that costs per unit will fall as more members join, making it more feasible for smaller brands that typically purchase at fabric level to access advanced recycled materials.
