Recycled Materials Incorporation experiments

The Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) will be launched in spring 2026. Thank you to all candidates for their participation in previous waves and for their commitment to textile and footwear recycling.

Why launch this CEI?

Refashion initiated this Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) to overcome the limitations of using recycled materials: the idea is to transform incorporation into a market lever, not just a technical constraint.

While a significant portion of collected used CHF flows has not yet found an industrial outlet, it is essential to stimulate experiments that allow the integration of these recycled materials into finished or semi-finished products, in closed-loop and open-loop systems.

This CEI aims to encourage the industrialization of viable solutions, to create new sustainable outlets, and to materialize the environmental gains of recycling.

What is the purpose of this initiative?

The Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) for Recycled Material Incorporation (RMI) allows for financing all or part of the recycled material incorporation experimentation process:
  • Research and purchase of recycled material
  • Transformation or incorporation trials into a finished or semi-finished product
  • Performance tests, industrial validations, development of a viable product
It covers the entire scope from product development to its industrial validation, with the objective of fostering the emergence of operational and sustainable recycling channels.

Who is this CEI for?

This initiative is open to players in the textile and footwear industry, and other user industries wishing to incorporate recycled materials from non-reusable post-consumer clothing, linen, and footwear (CHF) waste streams into their products. This includes:
  • Recyclers
  • Spinners, weavers, knitters
  • Closed-loop manufacturers / brands
  • Open-loop industries (automotive, construction, plastics, etc.)
