A WORD FROM THE CEO

"Today, with current technologies, we don't yet have the level of detail needed to truly understand the composition of materials."

Clara Spetebroodt, CEO

PROJECT'S OBJECTIVE

Development of a new method to identify the material composition of used, non-reusable black-colored textiles (CHF) and multilayer textiles.

TYPE OF CHF COVERED : Black-colored textiles and multilayer textiles

RECYCLING STAGE: Sorting by material identification

PROCESS: Hyperspectral imaging combined with a digital camera

Financial support from Refashion:

87 810,19€

Project duration: 24 months

The project in 3 steps

  1. Method of modeling using reference textile-footwear samples

  2. Characterization of complex materials: multilayer textiles and black-colored items and model training

  3. Model testing on post-consumer textiles and footwear
