A WORD FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTOR

« We currently have a project facing a major challenge: to be able to produce recycled material at the lowest possible cost.»

Emmanuel Kaparski - CEO RECYClocal

Project’s ‘RECYCLOCAL TEXTILES’ objective

Provide Occitanie region with a complete industrial solution for textile waste recovery:  material and color sorting, disassembling, and routing to recyclers, with enhanced traceability.

A flexible and scalable system to optimize outlets, support new recycling sectors, reduce costs, and promote both closed-loop and open-loop recycling.

Type of CHF covered: Clothing textiles, household linen, and professional textiles

Stage in the recovery chain: Automated sorting by material and color for recycling

Outlets (markets): Textiles sorted or even unbundled according to the specifications of recycling clients (open-loop and closed-loop)

Final product: Bales of textiles sorted by composition and color

Financial support from Refashion:

850 000 €

Project duration: 30 months

The project in 2 steps

  1. Installation of an automated advanced sorting line: to provide a large number of sorting categories and promote the recovery of post-consumer used textiles

  2. Identify and direct waste streams toward open-loop and closed-loop outlets to establish sustainable recovery channels
